REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

Regenerative medicine is a form of treatment that uses the body’s natural cells and it's regenerative capabilities to heal damaged or painful muscles, tissues, ligaments, cartilage and bones. Regen Care uses stem cell therapy or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to help patients find relief from their chronic musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, ligament and muscle tears, or tissue inflammation.

PRP THERAPY

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy is a regenerative medicine treatment method that helps encourage natural regrowth of damaged or destroyed tissue.

The process of PRP:

  • Blood is drawn from the patient.

  • That blood is put through a centrifuge that separates out the plasma from the other elements of the blood.

  • The platelet-rich plasma solution is then re-injected into the patient’s body at the treatment site.

  • These blood platelets go to work immediately to repair damaged tissue and stimulate regrowth in the area.

PRP THERAPY BENEFITS

  • Arthritis or osteoarthritis, especially those with degenerative knee cartilage. PRP can be effective for many cases of osteoarthritis by stimulating healing of cartilage and reducing pain and disability. This includes:

             Knee arthritis

             Hip joint arthritis

            Shoulder arthritis

           Ankle arthritis

  • A torn ligament or ligament sprains

  • Muscle tears

  • Tendonitis or tendon injuries

  • Achilles tendonitis & plantar fasciitis

  • A bulging or herniated disc

  • Rotator cuff injuries

  • Sacroiliac problems

  • COPD/Emphysema

  • Interstitial lung disease/Lung fibrosis

  • Stroke patients

  • Acute/chronic wounds

  • Diabetic Foot

  • Bed Sores

  • Phlebitic Ulcers

  • Peripheral Vascular disease

  • Injuries due to sports or exercising (such “tennis elbow,” plantar fasciitis in runners)

  • Common hand injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Skier’s or “Gamekeepers” thumb and “Texting thumb”

  • Chronic pain in any susceptible area such as the neck, lower back, knees or shoulders

STEM CELL THERAPY

Stem cells are the precursor cells found throughout our bodies from which mature or differentiated cells are derived.  They are characterized by the ability to renew themselves or develop into more specialized cells and therefore have the potential to replace cells or tissues which has been damaged or destroyed due to disease processes.

Mesenchymal stem cells are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types, including osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), myocytes (muscle cells) and adipocytes (fat cells which give rise to marrow adipose tissue).

The mesenchymal stem cells are harvested from the bone marrow under a local anaesthetic procedure.

Uses for Stem cell therapy:

  • Neurology (Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Spinal Cord Injuries)

  • Skin regeneration

  • Orthopaedics (Osteoarthritis, cartilage & bone repair)

  • Sports injury (cartilage & ligament repair)

  • Respiratory system (COPD’s such as emphysema)

  • Cardiology (Heart muscle regeneration)

  • Blood circulation (Critical Limb Ischemia)

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • Primary ovarian failure

  • Stimulation of Hair growth

  • & many other areas
